60s Vintage Vietnam War Veteran Attributed K-2B Flight Suit - Medium

Genuine US Military issue

This flight suit is attributed to career Army pilot Robert 'Bob' T. Brafford. Brafford served multiple tours in Vietnam between 1964-1968.  It was found in a larger grouping of items that all belonged to the retired Major. Units he served with include the 145th Airlift Platoon (1964-1968), 11th Combat Aviation Group (1967-1968), and 242nd Assault Helicopter Support Company (1968). His personal callsigns were 'Mardi Gras' while serving with the 145 Airlift Plat. and 'Muleskinner 5' while serving with the 242nd AHSC.

This suit was worn while Brafford was serving in Vietnam, and displays post-war use as well. It has Vietnamese tailor-made hand embroidery, denoting his name, "US Army", Aviator wings, Air Defense branch insignia and Major rank. The left shoulder insignia signifies the Third US Army, which ran stateside training in the 1960s and 1970s. On the right shoulder is a beautiful Vietnamese-made hand-embroidered MACV patch, denoting his prior wartime service.

Excellent condition with very light signs of wear - All zips, buttons, fittings and fixtures are present and working. The contract label is present and legible.
